Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp
The River Cauvery is hardly what one would call tame. Its course includes gorges, waterfalls, rapids, dense forests and much more. The Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp is a paean to this majestic river. A wonderful mix of delightful nature and wild adventure, this camp is close enough for easy access and far enough to cut yourself off from the everyday humdrum. The River offers both adventure and opportunity for nature lovers. Nestled along this mighty river is the Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp, world-renowned as home to the great 'Mahseer' - the finest & the largest tropical sporting fish known to man. Tucked away from the milling crowds, yet close enough for you to reach, this camp offers a slice of nature that is entirely unique, one in which you can totally feel free!
Accommodation
The Camp, overlooking the River Cauvery consists of 2 Cottages, 8 Loghuts, 8 Tented Cottages & 1 Mud Hut. All accommodations are elegantly designed with modern amenities.
Food & Restaurant
At the Nature camp the exclusive Restaurant area called the Ghol Ghar (circular, open-to sides marquee) specialises in serving a delectable buffet of South Indian, North Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. Guests are offered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
Facilities/Activities
The Grand safari includes visit to the Lion, Tiger and the Bear enclosures. You can also take a guided nature trek into the Herbivore area of the Park. Bannerghatta is ideal for children and budding naturalists to explore the many secrets of Nature. Besides you will also get the opportunity to Visit the Zoo & Butterfly Park Zoo.
Itinerary: Day 1
1:00 pm: Check in, Settle down & freshen up with welcome drink 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Treat yourself for a Buffet lunch at the Ghol Ghar 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Adventure Package - (Zip line, Burma loops, Parallel walk, Cat walk, Elephant Foot Walk,) 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Gear up for water activates in the Cauvery River with tea / coffee served at the Ghol Ghar 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm: Coracle Ride / Pool Kayaking (Adventure Package) with life jacket (Depending on water condition) 7:45 pm - 8:30 pm: Barbeque party at Camp fire 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm: Enjoy your buffet dinner at the Ghol Ghar.
Day 2
6:15 am - 6:30 am: Wake-up call & tea/coffee served in the room 7:00 am - 8:30 am: Guided trek / nature walk in the forest 9:00 am - 10:00 am: Breakfast at Ghol Ghar 10:30 am: Check out, if you must leave, we look forward to your next visit.
Season
The best time to visit is just after the monsoons, between August and February, when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant. This is the best time for bird watching as well - river terns, fishing eagles, wood peckers, kingfishers and other water birds flock here. During the other months, the water recedes and reveals wide sand banks, which are great for idling away the evening. The summer months (March - June) can be very warm, especially in the afternoon.
Travel Tips
Dress for comfort. Do avoid bright colours and stick to muted shades of green, black, grey and brown. The more you meld with the background, the better. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Avoid smoking – anything can start a forest fire. You’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, torch, etc. Avoid plastics. We’re really trying to cut down on plastics. Pets are strictly not allowed Since there is a connectivity issue, no electronic payment is possible and only cash payment is accepted.
