Galibore Nature Camp |

---|---|
![]() The Galibore Fishing and Nature Camp is tucked away literally far from the maddening crowd, deep in the deciduous forests about ten km from Sangam, on the banks of the River Cauvery. There is no habitation of any kind for miles around and the only sounds are the bird calls and the whistling of the wind. Indeed the place gets its name from a windy hillock called Galibore, situated just behind the camp. |

Season |

The best time to visit is between August and February, when the monsoons have graced the Camp and the river flows thick and swollen, and the forest is rich and green. This is the ideal time to spot birds as river terns, Fish eagles, woodpeckers, kingfishers and many others flock in large numbers. In the drier months, the receding waterline reveals wide sandbanks where you can wade in the many lagoons. The summer months of starting from March to June can be extremely warm, especially in the afternoons. | |
